Leads
What is a lead?
A lead in Convertly CRM is a prospect record — an individual or business that has expressed interest and whose details have been captured, either through a form submission, manual entry, or import.
Each lead lives in your pipeline and moves through stages as your team works it.

Lead status stages
Lead statuses correspond to your pipeline stages, displayed as columns on the Kanban board.
You move a lead through stages by:
- Dragging the card on the Kanban board
- Using the Stage dropdown on the lead detail page
Reaching the Closed Won stage automatically fires attribution conversion events to Google Ads and Meta.
Lead source attribution
When leads are captured via a Convertly form, the attribution data is captured automatically at the time of form submission:
| Field | Source |
|---|---|
gclid | Google URL parameter (?gclid=...) |
fbclid | Meta URL parameter (?fbclid=...) |
utm_source | UTM parameter |
utm_medium | UTM parameter |
utm_campaign | UTM parameter |
landing_page | Full URL of the page where the form was submitted |
referrer | HTTP Referrer header |
For manually created leads, attribution fields can be filled in manually on the lead detail page.
Creating a lead manually
From the lead list or Kanban board, click + New Lead.
Fill in the contact details and optionally assign a pipeline stage, lead source, and team member. Click Create Lead.
Manually created leads will not have gclid or fbclid values unless you enter them manually.
